The gas station located at the highest altitude in Taiwan, Guanyuan Gas Station, resumed operations in early 2020. After its refurbishment, the main building of the gas station looks stunningly new. The zongzi used to be sold by the Guanyuan Gas Station resumed its sales to bring consumers and visitors on the Central Cross-Island Highway happiness with its homey aroma.
The Guanyuan Gas Station is located on the Central Cross-Island Highway at Sioulin Township, Hualien County at the altitude of 2,374 meters above sea-level. It is the gas station located at the highest point in Taiwan. It has been closed for 5 months last year for refurbishment. It resumed operations after the New Year, providing refueling services for 92 gasoline, 95 gasoline, and super diesel. In addition, it also sells zongzi, coffee, and other hot foods to consumers, considering its altitude and cold temperature in a remote area. It sells about 5,000 zongzi on average every month.
