In line with the government's energy transition policies, CPC Corporation, Taiwan (CPC) is actively promoting the development of green energy and carbon reduction technologies, as well as related industries in Taiwan. On August 6, 2024, CPC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Academia Sinica and National Central University to collaborate on geothermal research, exploration, and development technologies. This partnership is envisaged to enhance scientific cooperation, facilitate joint projects, and encourage personnel exchanges, thereby strengthening efforts in geothermal research, pilot exploration, and practical application development. By leveraging the combined strengths of all three parties, this collaboration aims to expedite the advancement of geothermal power generation in Taiwan, contributing significantly to the nation's goal of achieving net-zero emissions and sustainable energy.
The MOU was signed by Shoou-Li Tang, CEO, Exploration & Production Business Division, Sun-Lin Chung, Director of the Institute of Earth Sciences at Academia Sinica, and Shu-Kun Hsu, Dean of the College of Earth Sciences at National Central University.
