The winners of the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) have been announced, with CPC receiving three major awards: the "Corporate Sustainability Report Award," the "Circular Economy Leader Award," and the "Green Leadership Award." CPC has been recognized with ten awards over the past five years, and the organizers have awarded it the highest honor, the Silver Medal, in recognition of its long-standing commitment to sustainability and outstanding achievements in various ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) aspects.
The 14th edition of the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards, organized by the Asian Business Council, was held this year in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. CPC stood out through a rigorous process including written reviews, interviews, and expert evaluations, earning the Sustainable Report Award, Circular Economy Leader Award, and Green Leadership Award.
Since 2007, CPC has voluntarily prepared sustainability reports. The 2023 report not only outlines its goals, strategies, and achievements in driving sustainable development but also actively addresses public concerns about sustainability issues, particularly its commitment to environmental protection. The company has been involved in environmental maintenance and has promoted ecological monitoring and biodiversity enhancement programs in its operational areas, earning the "Corporate Sustainability Report Award."
The "Circular Economy Leader Award" recognizes CPC for its active efforts since 2022 to control soil and groundwater at the Hsinchu oil depot site through green and sustainable remediation practices. Overcoming challenges such as poor soil quality and tight remediation schedules, the company has balanced environmental, social, and economic benefits.
The Taichung Supply Center, starting in 2021, embarked on a pollution remediation plan from a green perspective, with the goal of completing the remediation by September 2026. Over two years, the center's green and sustainable remediation efforts have reduced carbon emissions by 192 tons, effectively controlling and repairing soil pollution while achieving economic and social benefits. This has led to the "Green Leadership Award."
Receiving these three awards not only affirms CPC's long-term commitment to social action but also motivates its employees to continue implementing sustainable values. Facing significant challenges such as climate change and energy transition, CPC remains dedicated to its core value of sustainability, striving to provide a green, safe, and healthy social environment for the people of Taiwan through its energy supply and social responsibility efforts.
