Since the unloading of the first LNG cargo ship and the start of a test run on April1, CPC’s Guantang LNG Terminal has met its natural gas output target ahead of schedule on April22. Since May 6, the TPC Datan Power Plant has consistently received 200 tons of natural gas per hour. On June 6, the test run was completed ahead of schedule, with a capacity of 900 tons of natural gas output per hour being tested. This progress was one week ahead of the original schedule, demonstrating CPC’s commitment to cooperating with the government’s domestic energy transition policy and collaborating to achieve the national gas supply goal.

According to CPC, the Guantang LNG Terminal’s current capacity has met the originally designed output capacity. To meet the natural gas demand of seven to nine turbine engines at the TPC Datan Power Plant and other users in the Northern region, the integration and optimization of various systems, as well as overall process reliability tests, will be carried out.

CPC is actively promoting digital transformation. In November 2021, the 5G AIoT Project Office was established. It aims to use artificial intelligence (AI) to improve processes, predict equipment failures, provide smart industrial safety, protect the environment, manage operations, and address other fields. As of April 2025, over 250 cases have been promoted. Following successful completion, billions of dollars are expected to be generated or saved, through increased revenue and reduced costs.

In recent years, AI and innovative technologies have been progressively integrated and widely used in production, sales, storage, environmental safety, and other fields. Not only will AI improve operational efficiency, but it will also enable the creation of smart workshop demonstrations aligned with sustainable development trends and competitive market requirements. The “power supply service life prediction technology” won first place in the 2024 National Brand Yushan Award for Best Product. This demonstrates the government-owned businesses’ active adoption of AI applications, its commitment to improving overall operational efficiency, and its capacity for action.

2025 marks the inaugural year for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) supply in Taiwan. CPC Corporation, Taiwan (CPC) began its preparatory efforts at the beginning of 2024. After ten months of coordinated work involving 14 departments and nearly 500 personnel, the company successfully obtained certification on December 16, 2024, for both ISCC CORSIA (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification – Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation) and ISCC EU (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification – European Union).

CPC is now the first domestic oil company qualified to supply SAF with verifiable carbon reduction benefits in accordance with the standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This achievement affirms CPC’s compliance with international requirements for sustainable energy supply and marks a significant milestone in advancing green aviation in Taiwan.

Co-sponsored by CPC and Soochow University, the presentation of the new book Translation at Kaohsiung Oil Refinery: 60 Translated Works by 30 Translators was held, celebrating the efforts to promote the translation of literary works by Shisui Monthly, first published on May 1, 1950. With translated works as the majority of its content, CPC financed the purchasing of books in foreign languages and encouraged staff to translate parts of their contents. After the launching of Shisui, it has received high acclaim. It even reached the climax of releasing ten thousand copies per month. Issued for thirty-eight years, it has introduced world literature and scientific knowledge by major authors and scientists worldwide, nurturing the minds of people in Taiwan for three generations.

Author Daphne Qi-rong Chang is currently an assistant professor at Soochow University. With Shisui as the topic for her Ph.D. dissertation, Chang explored the stories of the translators of Shisui through the collaboration of CPC and Soochow University. Collecting the materials and conducting interviews for a decade, she completed the book Translation at Kaohsiung Oil Refinery, remembering the glory of Shisui.

CPC has made another major achievement in the promotion of its self-owned oil resources. On February 21, 2023, OPIC Australia, a branch of CPC, signed the “Sales and Purchase Deed of Bedout Sub-basin” to acquire a 10% interest in the Dorado oil field (WA-64-L production license) and four nearby exploration permits, WA-435-P, WA-436-P, WA-437-P, and WA-438-P.

Dorado oil field is located in the Roebuck Basin in the northwest offshore of Australia. With a depth of 95 m, it is about 110 km from the shore. Crude oil was discovered in 2018, and after a series of appraisals to confirm reservoir productivity, the Dorado oil field was granted a production license in 2022. Production at the Dorado oil field is planned to begin by 2027 and at its peak it is expected to produce 80,000 barrels of crude oil per day. The four nearby exploration permits also have significant oil and gas potential and will be subject to an ongoing exploration and appraisal program, aiming to increase the economic benefits of the project.

CPC Corporation, Taiwan (“CPC”) announced today that they have received Taiwan’s first certified carbon offset crude cargo from SOCAR Trading (“SOCAR Trading”), a trading arm of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic. Approximately 1,050,000 BBL of Azeri Crude oil has been delivered early this morning, with cradle-to-gate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions being offset with carbon credits certified by the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS).

Cradle-to-gate GHG emissions associated with the development, production, processing, pipeline transportation and shipping to Taiwan have been calculated with the support from Deloitte and Siglar Carbon, a specialist in predictive analytics and MRV (Measurement, Reporting and Verification) of shipping emissions. These calculations have been verified by independent certification company Intertek Group plc (“Intertek”). SOCAR Trading arranged and structured VCS registered carbon offset supply and retirement. All credits have been issued less than six years ago with the majority derived from nature-based projects that also have additional Climate, Community and Biodiversity (CCB) accreditation.

The entire trade, including GHG emission calculations, offset quality and retirement, was independently certified as carbon neutral by Intertek and Climate Neutral Commodity, an independent commodity certification specialist.

The shipment of first carbon offset Azeri Crude cargo to Taiwan follows the signing of a framework agreement between SOCAR Trading and CPC to facilitate carbon offset operations for emissions related to crude oil deliveries. The framework agreement outlines the intended collaboration on future elective crude oil transactions to incorporate the MRV of the associated carbon footprint, and the offsetting of these emissions with the retirement of carbon credits..

The 18th "Global Views Monthly" CSR and ESG Corporate Social Responsibility Award was held this afternoon (May 3rd). CPC has created a friendly workplace environment for Slow-Flying Angels（Developmental Delay, DD） with slow learning and careful working environment for many years. CPC "Guarding Slow-Flying Angels Spreading their Wings to fly" project won the first prize in the "Outstanding Project Category - Education Promotion Category", which is definitely for the care and dedication of the Developmental Delay people, the Chairman Lee Shun-Chin attended the ceremony to receive the award.

"Global Views Monthly" CSR and ESG Corporate Social Responsibility Award is a highly credible CSR evaluation. Through rigorous written reviews and final selection briefings, CPC stood out from 228 outstanding proposals from seven groups and 123 companies and won the first prize.

CPC started to employ Slow-Flying Angels（Developmental Delay, DD） to refueling services more than 20 years ago, and gradually extended to services such as car washing and CUP&GO coffee, always insisting on creating a slow-learning, careful and friendly workplace for the Slow-Flying Angels, and giving three guarantees to them, including the same benefits as others; when working in the station, they will not be bullied in the workplace and receive special treatment, thus providing a good working environment to Developmental Delay people.

Over the years, CPC has accompanied many Slow-Flying Angels to spread their wings to fly, from 14 to 15-year-old special education interns to work-study students. After graduation, the contract will continue to be renewed, and their job will be stable until retirement, and the experience accumulated over the years, the original "counselor training mechanism", taught by the Station Master and senior angels, leading them to learn the professional skills, process and steps, and cultivate them to provide high-quality services that are no less than ordinary employees. This project enables Slow-Flying Angels to have a skill and build up the ability to take care of themselves and earn a living.

Over the years, the Slow-Flying Angel project has been widely recognized by all walks of life, and CPC has also been awarded by the Ministry of Education as a model manufacturer of off-campus internships and employment for students with Developmental Delay. Under the predicament of low birth rate and lack of labor in the industry, Slow-Flying Angels were incorporated into the company's team and trained to add a new force to the front line of the gas stations.

CPC joins hands with all stakeholders to make good use of the persistent nature of Slow-Flying Angels to transform them into professional workers, and inspire self-sufficiency and self-confidence and self-esteem as grassroots professionals in the workplace, and at the same time let everyone feel their kindness and sincerity. CPC welcomes everyone to visit the "Kindness Gas Station" of the Slow-Flying Angels, and let the gas stations that can be seen everywhere in life become a bridge connecting you and me with love and care for the Slow-Flying group.

CPC has promoted the culture of public toilets for many years. During the COVID-19 pandemic, public toilets have been opened for consumers to use, which has been recognized and praised by many people. This year coincides with the 20th anniversary of World Toilet Day on November 19, 2021. There are more public toilets at gas stations directly operated by CPC obtained premium evaluation, so today (19), the staff of all direct-operated stations and franchise stations in Taiwan are connected in series, led by Acting Chairman and President Shun-chin Lee to clean the public toilets of gas stations, and jointly respond to the theme activities of World Toilet Day. CPC invites everyone to "CPC stations, near to convenience" and let the world see Who cares about toilets? CPC cares!

On November 19, World Toilet Day is an international day of commemoration adopted by the United Nations. It encourages governments and organizations to plan actions to solve sanitation problems, and mobilizes and participates in joint social media and publicity activities every year to achieve UN Sustainable Development Goal 6. (SDGs 6)-"Ensure everyone has access to clean water and sanitation and its sustainable management."

Prior to the promotion and appeal of toilet hygiene by the World Toilet Organization and the United Nations, CPC promoted the culture of public toilets for nearly half a century. Since 1976, it has fully allowed the public to use of gas station toilets; it was listed in the Environmental Protection Agency’s public toilets in 1990; Public Toilets Cultural Forum was held in 2003, emphasizing human-oriented toilet space, creating a clean toilet environment, promoting citizen toilet culture, and enhancing urban civilization; in 2017, public toilets were upgraded and constructed to prevent toilet paper from landing to prevent the spread of vector bacteria; During the nationwide level 3 alert period of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, when public toilets across Taiwan were closed due to the epidemic, CPC firmly stepped up cleaning and disinfection, opening the door to convenience for people on the move. After years of hard work, the public toilets of CPC gas stations have become the most convenient first choice for people on the move. The franchised station operators have joined hands to provide the public with a high-quality toilet environment.

Today’s "World Toilet Day-CPC stations, near to convenience!" The public toilet cleaning mobilization event was held at the Neihu gas station in Taipei. CPC’s Acting Chairman and President Shun-chin Lee, led the heads of various units to bend down to clean the public toilets and launched the "World Toilets Day" activity ceremony, the event called the Pan-CPC System's TSC Gas Station, Oil Group Gas Station, Qian-yue Gas Station, Shan-long Gas Station, Song-yong Gas Station, Bei-ji Gas Station, Costco Gas Station and Evergreen Gas Station, etc., and mobilized 10 business branches, 1,899 CPC gas stations, and more than 5,000 employees and franchisees in Taiwan.

Mr. Shun-chin Lee said that as a sustainable ESG enterprise and a member of the world’s citizens, CPC will integrate internationally and will not be absent from the annual World Toilet Day activities in the future. It will continue to join hands with partners and grassroots employees to clean public toilets for the public. The service does its best to deepen the public toilet culture with full participation, create valuable public toilets "Valuing Toilets", and lead franchisees to fulfill their corporate social responsibilities and achieve sustainable development goals. In conjunction with the "World Toilet Day" event, CPC’s official Facebook fan page held a "Like the "Convenient" gas station public toilet in your mind" Lucky Lottery. People are welcome to search CPC’s official Facebook fan page from November 19th to 23rd to participate in the World Toilet Day event, and it is hoped that through the sharing of the people, the whole Taiwan will know "CPC stations, near to convenience," and let the world see Taiwan cares about toilets!

The National Brand Yushan Award was presented in the evening yesterday (21). CPC has won eight major awards this year include the "Best Popular Brand Award"–"95 Unleaded Gasoline" and "Best Product Award"- "Carbon Neutral LNG", "CPC Life Exquisite Car Wash", "Diamond Water", "Smart & Green e-Station" and "Guoguang Brand SP Motor Oil Series Products". CPC won two National First Awards, namely the National First Award for Best Popular Brand "95 Unleaded Gasoline" and the National First Award for Best Product "Smart & Green e-Stations".

The National Brand Yushan Award is one of the most important awards in the domestic industry. CPC has won many awards over the years, and this year it has won eight major awards. The Acting Chairman and President Lee Shun-Chin received the award on the behalf of the company, which is equivalent to national brand certification.

“95 Unleaded Gasoline” has been on the market for more than 31 years, and it is the most popular oil product in Taiwan. For many years, CPC has strictly controlled the volume and quality of gasoline. Every batch of gasoline has been targeted at CNS national quality standards, which is more in line with the advanced countries in the world. Quality requirements, in addition to having low sulfur content and environmentally friendly characteristics, low olefin content can also reduce pollution and improve engine performance (horsepower and fuel consumption), which is deeply recognized and trusted by consumers in today's market. Additionally, in the oil refining process, the leading industry has changed from oil fuel to gas, effectively reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and actively protecting Taiwan’s land and homes. Despite the impact of green energy, the 95 Unleaded Gasoline has opened up a new generation of clean and efficient transportation. Its good oil quality and exquisite refueling service have endured in the hearts of Taiwanese people. It was the main reason why CPC was awarded the first prize of the best popular brand.

CPC won the Best Product Award this year with five products and services: "Carbon Neutral Natural LNG", "CPC_Life Exquisite Car Wash", "Diamond Water", "Smart & Green e-Stations", and "Guoguang Brand SP Motor Oil Series Products". The "Smart & Green e-Stations" won the first prize of the Best Product Award. CPC is looking at the new era of energy through R&D and cooperation, and builds solar photovoltaic systems in gas station, energy storage systems, and electric car charging and swap stations were installed at the gas stations, with smart energy management system adjustments. CPC combined the three main axes of "energy production, energy storage, energy consumption", and is looking forward to gradually reaching a symbiotic micro-grid smart community.

CPC continues to strive for excellence in its industry, from 95 Unleaded Gasoline, Gas station Car Wash Services to Guoguang brand SP motor oil, and then witness the value of CPC from the quality; responding to the trend of green transformation, from diamond water, Smart & Green e-Stations to carbon-neutral LNG carriers also demonstrate CPC's green transformation ambitions with technology as the core, circular economy as the foundation, innovation and R&D as the driving force, and low-carbon energy as the path, to create sustainability together with stakeholders, and always cheer for Taiwan!
